Day 2 Rina Dhaka for Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2013

The show was set up in a way that it reminded of a star studded sky at night.

Rina Dhaka’s collection was called the ‘Free Bride’

Patchwork, gotha work and traditional kamdani work ruled her collection, but all in all not one of her best work.

Sophie Chaudhary opened the show.

I dont really have much to say about this collection (read not much good things to say), so I will let you makeup your own mind for it...

This was probably the only garment I liked out of the lot, and its partly because of my fixation on purples and lilacs this season..

Know your designer

1.  Rina Dhaka had first opened up a salwar kameez boutique for one of her friend.

2. Around the time Mutiny and Ensemble were coming up as fashion houses. Rina stated designing for these fashion houses and her designs were well received by the people and thus, it confirmed her entry into the fashion forum.

3. One of her designs for the Miss India events caught the eye of Rohit Khosla, the only fashion designer back then known for his innovativeness. She was encouraged by his appreciation and has striven to keep up the spirit of innovation.

4.  Her first show in Singapore "The Best of Indian Haute Couture" met with a thumping success. Rina has also won a Yuva Rattan award in career.

  1. As up bridal wear collection is just super and based on Indian tradition. As we know all in India bridal dresses are very known and loved by all people specially in girls.Fashion is not just something about that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the mind, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening and going on.

  2. I want that hairpiece the model is wearing on 2nd b picture. What is it called?

I love reading what you have to say :)
