Day 3, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2013

Falguni and Shane Peacock comment on their collection, “We have worked on each piece for AVIBFW individually to replicate the beauty and movement of nature in a contemporary form. For the Garden of Eden Collection, we recently traveled to Europe to gather inspiration for our work. Monaco, Nice and the gardens of Lake Como all played their part in inspiring us to replicate the world’s most beautiful gardens and the natural beauty they embody”.

The ramp was scattered with flowers as well.

ROHIT BAL , Day 4 Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week

Yes I know I am due to write about Day 3 and the first show of Day 4, but I cant contain my excitement about the Rohit Bal show, so I am skipping the rest and will come back to them a little later.

The show was packed! Seating arranged had been increased to accommodate the huge crowd and people were still left standing, although no one complained this was THE show everyone had been waiting for, I certainly was!

Rohit Bal is known for his extravagant style, he is the showman of the industry and surely enough when you entered the main stage area you were greeted by huge lotuses hung from the ceiling, draped lights all around. It was like entering a new world.

The room was darkened once when the announcement for the start of the show was called...in pitch darkness came the glow of the first lotus and then the next, in random order one by one all lotuses lit up from inside...

Songs like 'Lag jaa gale' (Woh Kaun Thi, 1964) set the pace for the show, followed by 'Yeh hai reshmi zulfon ka andhera' (Mere Sanam, 1965), 'Baahon mein chale aao' (Anamika, 1973) and 'Aaiye meherbaan' (Howrah Bridge, 1958), moving on to more contemporary 'Kehna hi kya' (Bombay, 1995) and an instrumental version of 'Roja jaaneman' (Roja, 1992), only to return to 'Aa jaane jaan'

Day 2 : ‘ELOHIM’ By Jyotsana Tiwari

Jyotsna Tiwari says, “IBFW focuses to provide the best in the category of bridal luxury. Being part of IBFW gives an Indian designer the opportunity to showcase their collection to a wide range of audience. Also it is a great platform to promote trade and connect with consumers and buyers.”

About the Show

The show was for a fun-loving I-want-to-have-a-cocktail-party-wedding Bride. She was probably the only designer to capture perfectly the essence of a modern bride.

Jyotsana Tiwari’s collection ELOHIM was inspired by colors, fun and festivities around the wedding.

Preliminary inspiration for this collection remains Nav-ratan jewelry which embraces nine color stones together in one statement piece.

Focused on light weight, fun clothing, the collection gives the young bride an opportunity to have fun around her wedding.

The back drop of the show looked like moons in different phases, and then came the remix version of "Khoya Khoya chaand..."
Loved the music at the show (in fact a few of my pictures came out blurred because I was swaying so much at the songs)

Day 2 Rina Dhaka for Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2013

The show was set up in a way that it reminded of a star studded sky at night.

Rina Dhaka’s collection was called the ‘Free Bride’

Patchwork, gotha work and traditional kamdani work ruled her collection, but all in all not one of her best work.

Sophie Chaudhary opened the show.

I dont really have much to say about this collection (read not much good things to say), so I will let you makeup your own mind for it...
