Every shampoo today speaks about strong hair, but what really matters is the roots that make the hair strong. Only strong roots can give you strong and healthy hair. L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X is one such shampoo that takes care of your roots.

Fall Repair 3X is an Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo that delivers a triple anti-hair fall action. It nourishes the hair root, restructures hair fibre and helps the hair grow stronger from root to tip!

Only Fall Repair 3X is enriched with Arginine Essence. Arginine is an essential amino acid that is vital for hair’s constitution. It is known for nourishing the scalp to improve micro-circulation.

Stay Rooted an Initiative by L'Oreal

‘Stay Rooted’ is all about remembering your roots and knowing that whatever you are today is because of your roots. It's about taking time out to thank and appreciate people, things, places etc. from your past that have made you "You".

Your roots are the main reason for your strength.

Who would you like to thank if you had a chance to go back in time?

As for me : I would like to Thank my parents for who I am and who I have became, and I would like to Thank my Brother for teaching me how to read....(why didn't anyone teach me how to spell though?!)

New Bahu's Makeup Box Essentials!!

When I went Makeup Trousseau shopping how naive I was. Although I got all essentials to get me started they were still a young girls list of things. As soon as I was asked to get dressed for the first outing post marriage I realized all those pretty pinks and nude lipsticks worked no where.

If you are like me, and prefer your skin the way it is don't be mistaken into thinking you will not be using a lot of makeup. However cool your in-laws are and they won't say it but they would still love for you to dress up and look like the 'nayi-dulhan' at least the initial few months.

So here is a LIST of New Bahu's Makeup MUST-HAVE!
Brides-to-be make sure you have these!!

1. FOUNDATION

Well I got this one correct during trousseau shopping!
Get one of day and one for night.

Day : Get a BB creme , they have enough coverage so your skin looks great and is not so heavy and you don't feel as if you have disappeared under layers.

Which one...ANY, most BB cremes are pretty good. I personally use Garnier these days.

For more details you can read a comparison of Garnier, Maybelline and Deborah BB creams at Peach&Blush here

Night : MAC, Love it! Best out of all. If its out of your budget I would strongly recommend Loreal as well. Not the powder one the creams. I don't like powder foundation some how you can't get an even coverage.

2. CONCEALER
I don't use concealer so I am probably not the best person to advice on it. But for Quick fixes, dark circles, unexpected pimples I use Maybelline BB stick.

Can be used as a bb day foundation as well.

3. BLUSH
I used to own one blush. Pink in color and that's it. I thought it would get me through. Well thankfully the persuasive MAC girl got me to buy a reddish one too!

Blush Basic : You need a minimum of 3!

Pink
Red
Peach

Not sure if Peach works for you, it does! I have quite recently discovered peach as a color for blushes, I did know about it earlier ofcourse but never considered using it.

After travelling almost every fortnight since the wedding I am tanned badly! So bad that I hate looking at the mirror (says the girl who was so self obsessed that I have mirrors in my room every where).

Errr..how does that connect to peach blushes?! What I discovered was if your looking for a slight blush, like you get post exerciser, the darker your skin tone the better peach blushes looks on you and if you more towards pale then pink does the same effect and peach becomes a color blush.

Colorbar Coral Craving

4. EYE SHADOW

You would probably get a LOT of colors gifted to you by your in-laws in the makeup kit. So for this one alone its better to stick to the basics. Ofcourse do get a nice color pallet on your own, you can never have enough! I have 3 color pallets of around 12 colors each and yet I am at times lost. So the more the better.

L'oreal chrome Shine Beigh Simmer is my quick fix basic
This is the exact effect that you get.

To Person in the picture, Took it off google , if you have an issue let me know. Also tell me which camera you have.

I also like Revlon 'Romantic Girl' Love the finish you get on the eye.

5. EYE LINER, MASCARA and KAJAL

Eye Liner : L'oreal Super Liner is super black! That is why I love it. If your not comfortable with liquid liners try this one! Its the only one which I can wear without my eyeliner going crazy all over the place.
Mascara :

I will not even explain why, just go and buy it
Recently discovered the goodness of this one. Gives you a nice curly effect and no clumping!. Is waterproof. Maybelline says it gives you an effect as if your wearing false eye lashes, I don't really think so.Best way is to use the yellow one first and then this one, so ya two mascara's but great effect!

Kajal :

Incolor

Although I have lost mine since a couple of months and havn't brought a new one, been using maybelline colossal kajal. That's good to , a little bit of spills but great otherwise. Would still consider Incolor better but Maybelline is a good substitute too.

6. LIPSTICKS

I got so many pretty pinks and lovely peaches which have been used only twice. Red lipsticks girls RED that is what a married women needs!

Doesn't mean you go all aunty brownish-maroon. Here are two great New-Bride colors that will work

NYX Absolute Red
Love it! a very modern red! plus it stays on for a long time
Loreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick
829 Resilient Resin
This is a bit aunty-maroon-brown-turned-elegant-modern

7. NAILPAINTS

Pre-marriage I had all sorts of colorbar bright Orange, wacky greens, Loud Fushia's and now they lie in my closet gathering dust.

I don't change my nailpaints a lot so I try using the ones that go with everything. My current fav. Bridalish paints are :

loreal red tote

Loreal 403

Loreal 580
Loreal 350 is similar too, a little more bronzy

I just realized that I like all Loreal colors....hmm....must buy other brands....

8. SINDOOR

I have Lotus and Lakme, but both of them are maroon and I don't like the maroon ones, they get blackish in a while. So I got a nice tomato red!

List of Makeup Trousseau

I know I have been out of scene for a while, so busy shopping!!

I had to make this list for myself, might as well do it online and share with you all.

Tiny Tip: Buy Makeup as close to the wedding month as you can without freaking out. Makeup lasts upto 6 months, so plan accordingly.

I am guilty of using products more than a year old, I know its unhealthy for the skin. But how can I throw out all those pretty eye-shadows and lip colors :(

I would buy my stuff around 2 months in advance. ( don't want to leave anything for the last month)

What I am Buying :

1. Foundation : Day and Night

I prefer no foundation at all during day time.

Love my Pond's golden radiance cream so much that find that great as a day foundation and also a a great base for makeup. (It doesn't really give any sort of coverage but is really good for giving the skin a beautiful 'glow' )

Left to Right : Night Cream, Day Creme (smaller bottle), Facewash, Day Cream (Bigger bottle), and Serum

Absolutely love the day creme.
The night creme has a little more gold 'particles' , I used it for my engagement on my hands and they sparkled in the light :D , in a really pretty way.

If you really really want a day foundation then try Maybelline bb cream.

I didn't know before but they actually come in 3 different shades so make sure you take the one that matches your skin tone.

Night Foundation

Ofcourse if its just dinner out with family I would still prefer my bb cream to get me through it, but if its a family function or something that you have to get properly ready for, then we do need a good solid coverage foundation.

I prefer Mac products for that.
The Sales girls are pretty good and give a great recommendation. I took a trial once and it looked almost as if they had literally taken my own skin color and put it on me.

Not sure if this was the one she used on me. Still have to buy. Do listen to what the SA tells you!

I have been using L'oreal in the past, which is pretty good as well.

That's the one I have been using, it has got me through college years, numerous fashion weeks and store launches . Never had any complains. Friends actually said my skin looks great in it.

I would personally buy Mac, its a wedding thing : you should buy the best that you can.
Not sure if L'oreal is better, or Mac is. Not really an expert on that, so shall not comment. But have read up a lot and people recommend Mac more.

2. Concealer and Eclat

Concealer

I don't really need a concealer *touch wood*.  (thats what a lot of people tell me)
But its better to have one right?!
They are the best at hiding dark circles after late nights, no?!
I am planing on asking the Mac SA only to tell me which one.
Should the Concealer match the foundation or something??
Need Help on this one.
Help!

Eclat
Not sure what to do with it, people say it helps in brightening up your skin in a minute if put right. I put it on once and ya it helps in giving you an instant 'fresh' look.

YSL's the best. want it!!
Anybody knows the price??

3. Blush

Neutral and Peach/Pink
I will probably end up buying something neutral, which gives a slight 'flushed' look.

4. Eye Stuff : Eye Shadow, Eye liner, Kajal, Mascara

Eye Shadow

Chances are your in-laws have already, or plan to, give you an eye shadow palette.

If so (and you still want to buy) then buy what your pretty sure that you will wear.

I am only getting a neutral palette. In-laws have given me all colors possible.

I have been using this one for ages and its probably the only eye shadow that I managed to finish!
Who am I kidding I am pretty sure I will end up buying another palette which has blues, greens and pinks in it :D

Eyeliner and Kajal

I am getting Lakme eye artist and Incolor kajals.

Read reviews here : http://www.crazyindianwedding.com/2012/07/search-for-perfect-kajal.html
and kajal swatches here http://www.crazyindianwedding.com/2012/08/incolor-swatches-kajal-of-my-choice.html

Mascara

If you have seen the research I have done on the kajal (read review link above) then let me assure you I have done an equal amount of research on Mascara's. Will write about it if I get time.

My conclution of years of research has lead me to :

Maybelline Colossal Mascara

It actually gives you longer, thicker eye lashes. Try it!!

5. Lipsticks, Lipgloss and Lip liners

Lipsticks

I read somewhere that a few people where confused with what colors work for them. Nowdays you get pretty cheap lip color palette from good brands like Lakme and all. Try that out if your confused about which color suits you.

I did too, but have actually gone back to the best way to figure out different lipcolors. Mom's makeup box.

Will be buying: Pinkish and redish shade.
Probably : Loreal 702 and the new l'oreal infallible range. ( Need a non-tranfarable lipstick. Heard these are the best)

Lipgloss

Defiantly need my neutrals in this! and a pretty shade of pink.

Will buy: I have this really nice neutral Mac and a pink Loreal shade 200

L'oreal 200

Lip Liners

Same color as the lipsticks and gloss ofcourse to make sure they don't spill out!!

____

And ofcourse Loads of makeup brushes!!
I generally use my fingers for blending but defiantly still need a set of brushes!

____

Let me know if I missed out anything!!??

Search for the perfect Kajal

Local tradition considers it to be a very good coolant for the eyes and believes that it "protects the eyesight and vision from the sun."

I probably have the worlds most watery eyes, my eyes drink up kajal! seriously!

Finding the perfect kajal became quite a challenge.

--
The first one I ever tried was Shahnaz Hussain, It stayed on easily for 2-3hrs. I used this almost through the first 2 years of college before I realized that it made perfect round black bags below my eyes.

Reject

Shahnaz Hussain

--
Then I got looads and looads of Lakme in every color possible.

Lakme

Tiny Trouble happened none of the colors (blues, greens, or purple) could get applied on as a kajal my eyes just 'watered' all over them. like a Fire engine putting out water.
As for Black after a couple of hours the kajal over flowed its boundaries and got converted into pretend dark circles.

Lakme Eye Artist

Lakme eye Artist is not really a kajal but is certainly a perfect eyeliner! Its tip is like that of a pen, so its almost like drawing on your face :D

--
Revlon tried it for a day, the black one got washed all over within the 1st hour.

--
Loreal

Loreal

I have the one above in brown, looks really pretty when you put it on and is in fact the perfect brown for Indian eyes.
It stays on for 3-4 hours
Only trouble is it ends up feeling a bit grainy by a few hours and irritates the eye. ( not sure if its a personal issue or happens with everyone )

Loreal Kohl Minerals

Kohl Mineral is truly the blackest kajal I have tried on ( even more than Maybelline Colossal Kajal ).
Stays on for 3-4 hours
Problem : Very difficult to apply since you have to apply it via brush, after applying it for a long time I have finally got it right. If you end up spilling it on the face then your in for trouble.

--
Maybelline Colossal Kajal is surrounded by the latest 'it' buzz. And rightly so (almost)

Maybelline Colossal Kajal

True its really really black and stays on for a long time. But for me personally by the end of the day (around 4-5 hrs later) it spills over and I get huge dark under eye bags, and I need a kajal which stays on perfectly.

--
Incolor

Incolor
My savior *Sigh*
My sister had to come all the way from London to tell me that she buys this kajal from South Ex., seriously!? Every single cosmetic brand at her disposal and she uses this.

On her word I stared using it and LOVED it!
Doesn't spill, stays on from morning to night!

On my engagement day, the kajal my MUA had put, my eyes ended up watering it down by the time I had put my lehenga on, so told her and used this one instead, looked perfect till evening :D

Have this one in bluish-green also :) , need more colors!
