Indian Wedding | Engagement Hair 2015

Engagement is the one time I think that a girl wants to look womanly yet still like a girl, the whole concept of being a 'married' woman hasn't yet sunk in and you really want to look 'young'. (Well to be honest women ALWAYS want to look young. )

Anyways Engagement is the time when you want to show that you are a 'girl', and a LOT of Brides like to opt for the 'girly' natural look.

Up until 2014 we were still trying to nail the no-makeup makeup look for weddings, but I think by the time 2015 rolled in we got a lot of expert Makeup Artist on that. What 2015 dictates is to have the hair match this All-natural look!

And what better way to do it then by a Messy Updo! Something which looks chic and fun!

Wedding's not on the Ground Floor?!

I have attended 2 weddings this season where the function was held at the top floor and the 1st floor. While having a terrace wedding or a closed banquet wedding has a charm of its own I felt that both of them lacked one thing :

The Grand Entry of the Baraat.

The whole visual looks great when the Baraat comes to the venue and they are dancing on the gate, the Bride's family is waiting impatiently for them to come in already! And then someone from the grooms side pulls someone from the Bride's side to dance and within minutes everyone is dancing! That feeling of pure joy and happiness is one of the great moments of a wedding.

STORE REVIEW : Chandni Chowk, Sudhir Bhai

Sudhir Bhai has certainly been a favorite haunt of Brides-to-be in Delhi for many years. Somehow I never got around to visiting it during my wedding shopping, so when it was my brother's turn to tie the knot I decided that atleast one of my dress would be from Chandni Chowk!

I went on a weekday around lunch time, so thankfully there wasn't much crowd, but as the time progressed it feels as if ever single bride in town has arrived at Sudhir Bhai. Its always better to go on a weekday and even better still as early as possible. While the staff is polite and Sudhir Bhai himself tries to accommodate everyone, the sheer amount of number makes it impossible to wait on everyone.

Infact I once went on a Saturday around 2, and we had to leave empty handed without even seeing one inch of anything after waiting for 45min, that is the amount of traffic Sudhir Bhai gets!

But once you have the undivided attention of a Salesman the number of possibilities he brings in front of you are so many! Now when I went in I had restrictions :

Banana Hair Mask!

My hair has been pretty lifeless these days and I am trying to get it back to normal.

Its been dry, frizzy, dull and has become super rough. I am trying to find out a homemade mask that can bring it back to life!

I tried overnight oiling but somehow it wasn't effective enough, I read somewhere that banana masks helps a lot, So here is what I did ;

Ingredients :

1. One Ripe Banana
2. Two Tsp. Honey
3. Two Tsp. Coconut Oil

What I did with it?
I mixed it all together in a mixie, making it a nice soft mixture.
I applied this mixture evenly on my scalp and Hair ends.
Wrapped my hair in a Shower Cap
and Kept it on for 30 min.

I washed it off, make sure to wash it off thoroughly!
I continued with washing my hair like I normally do, Shampoo, Conditioner and then Serum.

The only problem was that it was a little difficult to get tiny banana pieces out of the Hair :/ As for my Hair quality right away I couldn't feel any difference but once my hair dried off I could feel it become a little softer and shinier, I have only done it once, will do it a few more times and see if it my hair quality becomes better.

Have you tried any Homemade Hair Mask? If so what was your experience ?

Product Review : B Blunt Temporary Hair Color

I have been waiting so long for a temporary hair color solution, and finally this seems the answer to all my prayers!

These are called 'One Night Stand' for the simple reason that they stay on for like a day or two and wash off with one wash.

I absolutely love the blue one! Although its not VERY deep in sense of coloring, you kind off have to spray a lot to get like a blue-blue color, it does however gives you a nice shade of blue when the light hits your hair right!

The Photographer you NEED at your wedding! Meet Morvi!

What got you interested in Photography?

If I remember correctly, it all happened rather early. Dad got a Kodak point and shoot camera home back in the 1980s. And I guess that was just the beginning. The progression to make Photography an important part of my life happened naturally. I would sit in the library and stare at images for hours. They don’t have to be relevant. Just about any imagery is enough to activate my brain cells. I don’t think in works I think visuals.

What is your favorite moment in a wedding?

Seeing the look on the groom’s face when a bride first walks in her untouched grandeur for the first time is priceless.

Which is one picture that every girl must have on her wedding day?

For every father, his daughter is his princess and for a bride her father is the first man she ever fell in love with the man whom she would secretly compare every other man with. No wedding is complete without pictures highlighting this beautiful bond.

If a girl doesn't really have a budget for a candid photographer or the parents insist on a traditional 'studio' guy, what suggestion would you give.

Knots and Hearts : The Wedding Planners YOU Need!

When I hear of Wedding Planners I always end up thinking of this creative group of people who sit together and decide a theme for your wedding and just take over everything, and they are basically just business people who take everything in a work-mode way, but then I read about Shyam and Kalash and I just really liked the fact that they just don't want to 'plan' a wedding they want you to experience it, and the best thing is that they understand that a wedding although centered towards the Bride and Groom is still a Family affair!

Two finance postgraduates, Shyam and Kalash met and love happened. What followed was a start of a beautiful love story which is still being written everyday.

With this knot that tied both their hearts together came the desire to share this happiness with every couple who wanted to make their wedding journey special. Hence was born Knots and hearts! Knots and Hearts, is geared up to make each day of your wedding a different experience.

They believe that, wedding is special and has to be memorable not just for you but for your whole family.
(and I totally agree on this!)

The end- to - end solutions for your entire wedding include venue, decor, entertainment, wedding trousseau, guest management to your honeymoon destination.

A team of experts from various fields including wedding stylists, makeup artists, fashion designers, jewelers, choreographers, wedding photographers and video experts to name a few...that fit into every budget, work with them to realize the bride/groom vision. (Sounds good, doesn't it?!)

Now I know Budget can be tricky and I always thought that Wedding planners work only with high budget weddings (after all, having no money constrain has its positives! ) So I went ahead and asked them what their thoughts are on this :

As we have always said that weddings have the emotional ingredient in them, thus planning each wedding involves a lot of detailing. Whether it is a 10 lakh wedding or a crore wedding, we ensure that the creativity and exclusivity is always at the high.
Coming to the budget on weddings,

Let's Talk! Wedding Madness, Bride-to-be HelpLine, and Random Stuff

Are you about to get married??
Are you a nervous wreak?
Are you excited?
or
You just don't know yet?

Well I didn't really realize what the whole 'marriage' stuff was or what that huge celebration that left a big dent in my dad's wallet really meant till much much later! I think even after almost 2 years there are days when I can't believe what just happened!

Well girly if the D-day is about to arrive I am sure you are experiencing so many emotions that you can't really embrace them all, and  if you are anything like me, you have pretty much gone numb because if you start paying attention to all those thoughts and emotions you would be crying, laughing and getting angry all at the same time; something like a million PMS at one moment kind off stuff.

Makeup Artist Delhi

OMG finding a makeup artist in Delhi is a nightmare, I guess that's true for most places as well! I was so sorted during my own wedding I knew who I wanted and booked her 6 months before, but this time for my brother's wedding I want to experiment with other artist and I don't want to spend a lot. Anything below 10k is ok for me.

My requirements for the Makeup Artist in Delhi are :
1. Should be able to travel to Noida.
2. Cost below 10k (per person)
3. Because it would be both me and my mom her makeup should be appropriate for both!
4. This time I want someone who can do innovative hairstyles.
5. Should make me look different enough from my own wedding, because I am repeating a lot of clothes the makeup and hair should be atleast different.

I have till now talked to :

The RED Bride!

If you have followed the blog enough you would know the love and special place I have in my heart for a traditional red bride!

I logged in today to find inspiration for lehenga's for the Sister of the Groom (*cough* wedding in the family I was talking about *cough*) so there I was searching for a nice brightly colored lehenga, that looked fun as well as 'just-married' for one of the function, and then I found this beautiful red lehenga picture and I got kinda stuck in that spiral :/

Anyways here are inspirational pictures for you lot!!
