Wedding Police ?!

What is it with celebrities and their understated weddings?!?!? Do they get too tired of wearing heavy clothes all the time, or maybe because every other person coming to their wedding would be wearing something stunning, they want to stand apart so they end up wearing something subdued.

Although Soha Ali Khan looked fabulous in her wedding day attire, I don't really think its the best she could have worn, I wish there was something more to it, something to aww us with :/

She does look like the 60's Heroine though...I dunno why I don't like this, maybe its the lack of color, because she does look stunning, just not 'Bridal'.

Look at this old photo of her for a jewelry brand :

Now that looks like a bride :/ , Anyways apart for the wedding, her Mehendi and reception outfit weren't too much to talk about :

Are Full Finger Rings the NEW Engagement Rings??

I saw this ad for diamond Finger rings and I was so certain if this had come out 2 years back then it would have certainly adorned my hand on my engagement, of course this is not something you can wear every day but can you imagine how awesome this would look on your engagement???

The Photographer you NEED at your wedding! Meet Morvi!

What got you interested in Photography?

If I remember correctly, it all happened rather early. Dad got a Kodak point and shoot camera home back in the 1980s. And I guess that was just the beginning. The progression to make Photography an important part of my life happened naturally. I would sit in the library and stare at images for hours. They don’t have to be relevant. Just about any imagery is enough to activate my brain cells. I don’t think in works I think visuals.

What is your favorite moment in a wedding?

Seeing the look on the groom’s face when a bride first walks in her untouched grandeur for the first time is priceless.

Which is one picture that every girl must have on her wedding day?

For every father, his daughter is his princess and for a bride her father is the first man she ever fell in love with the man whom she would secretly compare every other man with. No wedding is complete without pictures highlighting this beautiful bond.

If a girl doesn't really have a budget for a candid photographer or the parents insist on a traditional 'studio' guy, what suggestion would you give.

Wedding related Exhibition October 2014

Like last month here is a little advice for you :

The advantage of going to an exhibition which is not a huge international event is that you get to meet smaller, younger designers who have a different and unique take on things, so if you are looking for something 'different' then visiting such exhibition can be beneficial!

Wedding File 3 : Cousin's Wedding!

I wrote a few weeks back in my 'OMG I am back' post that another one of my brother is getting married, well he is my first cousin, which means its a close family wedding!

We just had his Roka a month back in 'Awad', Ashoka. It was a small family event, everyone was dressed in not-so-heavy and yet not-so-light clothes, if that makes sense. This is what my mom, my nani and I wore :

I have also worn this saree lehenga-style before, for my Father-in-laws birthday :

How to dress for your wedding if you have a butt.

Alert : Excessive use of the word butt

Well the Internet is flooded with Do's and Don't for the curvy shapes and its mainly written by women who have never been more than a Size 10. I am not saying I am an expert, but I have varied a LOT in terms of size. I have been a UK size 22 and a UK size 12 all in the course of a year and a half.

So these are just some things I picked along the way, specially during my own wedding. I was a Size 12-14 during my wedding. Jean size 34, demi-curve(Levis).

BTW yes I know everyone has a butt but this is for girls who have fuller ones :P

1. If you have fuller hips never ever go in for a mermaid style lehenga, just keep clearly away from those. Drop the hanger and walk back slowly. The only girls that this style actually looks wow on, are skinny thin with a good butt. Example : Pippa Middleton.

2. Wear your Lehenga how ? Saree Drape Vs. Normal Drape

A lot of readers, fellow bloggers and my friends and family have asked me why I hate my Tilak look , which everyone else seems to think was my best look out of all.

Well I usually reply with "I had something better in mind, it wasn't executed properly" and I don't blame the MUA, midway though my makeup she got a call that her 7yr old son was in an accident and even then she finished my makeup before she went rushing to her son.

Now for the first time ever (*dramatic music*) I am going to reveal the mystery...

5 Easy Tips By a MUA for the Bride to be!

Bangalore based Rekha Krishnamurthy from 'Studio Mirror Loves You' advises Brides-to-be....

 1. Drink lots of fluids
Drinking fluids, especially, Water is more of a common sense than a tip. This is one rule each one of us should follow throughout our lives. Water helps flush out toxins and the effects can certainly be seen on one’s skin. There is an unmistakable glow on your face, constantly, when you make drinking atleast 8 glasses of water a practice. Along with water, one can also consume juices of clear fruits and vegetables like Watermelon, Cucumber etc

2. Watch what you eat
Wedding is a once in a lifetime celebration, and one cannot help but get carried away with lot of mouth watering savories around. But, a little bit of discipline would definitely go a long way. So, ensure that you stop consuming Sweets & Deep Fried foods atleast 15 Days before your wedding. The last thing you want is a pimple to pop on your Big Day. Also, if you are a Non – Vegetarian, restrict yourself to grilled delicacies only. (toughest thing to do of all 5! )

Journey of 8 months

Post engagement the only project I had was the wedding, unlike many girls I didn't really want or imagined a huge wedding but some how the whole event ended up being a huge big fat Indian Wedding.

I think it was actually on the day post the wedding did me and my family realize that all we wanted was a cozy 200-250 people wedding in the beginning of the 8 months and ended up with a huge event of 1500+ at the end.

But was it fun?!...HUGE! people say they have been loving the food, the decoration, the planning of all events,etc.,etc....and above all me and the boy enjoyed every moment of it!

8 Months of our life me and my family were fully dedicated to just planning the wedding events and it payed out in the end!

All earlier post are the result of extensive search that went during these 8 months.

Here are few for re-cap :

1. Modern Brides 16 Singar :
