Decoding Sabyasachi's Lakme Fashion Week look 2013

Sabyasachi's show is tonight at Lakme Fashion Week. So, in short you'll be seeing tonight what most next season brides would look like!

I have already expressed my views on how I love the royal bride look by Sabyasachi for Lakme Fashion Week here, but when I saw the day look I feel in love with it too!

 I am waiting for this collection to come out at Lakme stores, its not available any where near me, right now, although I did get the gel nailpaint in red (a must buy for the bride!)
The red lip color looks amazing and see how it goes easily from day to night, another must for the Bride!

Obsession : How to make a Double Winged Eyeliner?

I have been obsessing over double winged eyeliner ever since I saw the Lakme - Sabyasachi Ad in the newspaper on 23rd morning.

So I went online and sourced all information I can on this, cant wait to try it! This wedding season I am double-winging it!

Gifting ideas FROM the Bride and Groom

"Err...why?! I am the one who is getting married, why should I gift things to other people?"

Well for starters your friends and cousins are taking out time on sunday's for dance rehearsals, shopping spree, wedding talks over coffee, and more.

And come on, you will miss them post wedding, and there is nothing like a gift that will show your appreciation.

Here is a list of things:

1. Little tinkets : My mom gifted payals to all the girls who were in a dance performance on the day of Tilak, we were dancing on "Payal bhi zid pay aayee hai"

2. Your clothes and jewelry that they have been eyeing for years, which are of no use post wedding : I gifted all my junk jewelry which weren't of much use post-wedding to one of my friend. You can have a small get together lay out all your stuff and let them pick, whatever is left head over to a charity stall, make space for all your new trousseau.

Lakme Fashion Week, Winter/Festive 2013

Lakme Fashion Week kick started yesterday with a great show and there is soo much in stored for the bride to be!

The thing I love the most about LFW is that you don't need to be a socialite or a celebrity to see the show, you don't need to be in Mumbai either! 

All you need is an internet connection, Log on to their website here to see the shows live and if you missed one then you can always go back to see it again and again.

Although if you get to witness it live its a complete exciting experience.

What summer Trousseau Wear do I have?

Remember when I wrote about trousseau wear last time, well that was more to do with a recent bride, but as you progress further from your wedding date and more into the depths of a married women your trousseau needs more variety and a little less bling. Plus last time it was all winter-ish clothes.

So here is what I have been wearing in the past few months, post-wedding.

Dear Brides-to-be,  most of this is stuff that I brought before marriage. So while trousseau shopping make sure to include everything, think of the different occasions you might need and face.

They are getting the best gift ever (each other) plus they are throwing a huge party and want to include you in the celebration, do you go empty handed? do you take a bouquet? Rs. 500 shagun or Rs. 1000?

Its tough for the guest specially if the bride and groom are choosy (Every bride and groom today ARE choosy). Its more tougher when its your friends wedding, what do you gift your friend when there relatives are buying them things worth your 3 months salary.

I never thought I would write about Manish Arora in this blog, Bridal and Manish Arora don't really go together, or that's what I thought!

His Couture collection for PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013 has some amazing Bridal looks. Ofcourse wearing them as it is might give a few shocks to your elderly family members but with little tweaks its actually a very fun collection!

I love Sabyasachi's designs and the beauty and Indian-ness he brings in his designs, but as a Bride I am not really a fan. I am in a love-hate situation when it comes to bridal wear from Sabyasachi.

This is ofcourse not 'bridal' wear but couture instead. We can still look at it for inspiration cant we.

Day 3, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2013

Falguni and Shane Peacock comment on their collection, “We have worked on each piece for AVIBFW individually to replicate the beauty and movement of nature in a contemporary form. Day 6 : Tarun Tahiliani at Aamby Valley India Bridal Week

Grand finale at Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week certainly had high expectations...did it live up to it...aahhh.. I would say could have been better..

Tarun Tahiliani's setup was of giant structures and the concept was a mixtures of 3 themes The Gold Collection, The Man of the hour, and The Enchanted Forest.

The runway was lite up by different lights for different themes...
