Guest Post : Top 7 New Year Resolutions for Newly Wed Couples

There is nothing more romantic than the first few years of marriage. Newly married couples can be seen glowing in love as they can’t seem to take their eyes off each other. Everything seems new and exciting and you want to spend most of your time in each other’s company. So this new year, make the following resolutions as a couple to help keep the spark alive.

1. Dine out at new restaurants
Ask each other out on dates. Bonding over a culinary experience at a new restaurant every month will allow you to try out new food and critique it together. You can spend priceless hours making jokes over bad food or create new memories if you get lucky with the new discovery.

2. Call up friends and relatives who attended your wedding
You must set aside a few days to call up people who took time out to attend your wedding and express your gratitude. Thank them for their presence on the occasion and tell them how special it made you feel. Also, remember to thank them for the gifts they brought. It is a fun activity to be undertaken together and will help you relive the special day. This gesture will be highly appreciated by your loved ones.

Pictorial: Festive Album!

So many things happened over the last month! Its easier to talk about them all via pictures.

Karva Chauth

Went home day before karva chauth in a red saree all decked up, only to tell my mom that I am wearing my chudidar below the saree so I can change into a kurta immediately, which eventually I didn't.

Next day morning got up at 4am, washed my face, brushed and staggered down the stairs to eat 'sargi'. My mother doesn't do Sargi so I had no idea what to do, after a lot of instructions the day before I managed to do it alright. (I guess). Eat and drank water as much as I possibly could in the whee hours of the morning (read not much).

Finally went back to sleep at 5. Got up a few hours later and got dressed really slowly. Wore an Anarkali during the day to keep things simple.

Karva Chauth Special: Tanishq's perfect app!

A few day ago my mother-in-law comes up to me and says "Acha beta Baya kay liye humarey yaha mathis raktey hai, teek hai, apni mummy ko bata dena"

"baya?!" I wondered.

My mother-in-law spends the next 15 minutes trying to explain how there have to be 6 glasses with mathis on top and a jug full of rice along with 2.5 clothes.

Now my MIL is extremely sweet and shy, she hates asking for anything, so by the end of it all I am super confused of what I have to give and what I have to get. Its decided in the end, that my mom and my mother-in-law will discuss it among themselves. *phew* problem solved!

It wasn't until I downloaded the Tanishq app that I really figured out what baya or Baayna really is.

Me and my mom are HUGE Tanishq fan, My bridal sets for all my wedding functions are from Tanishq so I know what the company stands for, and when I heard they had this Karva Chauth app I just had to check it out!

The perfect Mrs. – A reality or a myth?
"Is there a perfect Mrs”?

Hey Friends,

Today I got an opportunity to share my views with you through "crazyindiawedding.com".
I was requested to share my views on "HOW TO BE A PERFECT Mrs."?

But I would say why just try to be a ‘PERFECT Mrs.’ and not a ‘PERFECT GIRL/WOMAN? I strongly believe if you try hard enough, nobody can stop you from being ‘PERFECT’ in your own life.

NOBODY can stop you -
·         From maintaining your personality in terms of beauty, weight, looks etc.
·         From doing what you want to do in your life.
·         From taking good care of yourself. Yes, why not? If you can take care of others in the family, you can take care of you as well,

BUT you have to do it. Only you.
So, here are few things in my opinion what makes a girl PERFECT, doesn't really matter if you’re married or not.

We are talking about ‘PERFECTION’ in this article, but in reality NOBODY in this world is PERFECT. There is no dictionary definition of a perfect woman. If you strive to become one, then the one thing you will definitely achieve is stress.  The only way to be PERFECT in your own life is "Be Happy". :-)
  • I have observed that girls at times take it too easy post-marriage. They act a bit casual on their beauty regime, with their weight, skin care, hair care, learning’s, even with their hobbies, passion etc. (CIB says: Guilty!) I would say or rather request you girls, "DON’T change yourself". Believe in yourself, in your beauty, your knowledge, your passion and you can do wonders in your life.

  • Exercise daily, take care of your beauty, read & harvest your knowledge, follow your dreams, take your hobbies, your passion seriously irrespective of the marital status. Remember, you’re doing all this for you and NOT for anybody else.

  • Tell yourself, you are beautiful & do your best and always remember you can't make everyone happy in this world. There will always be some people who will like you & others who won't but it’s their problem, not your's.

  • Look beautiful; take care of your skin by regular skin care- cleansing, scrubbing, toning & moisturizing.

  • Take care of your Hair: 3 steps are always important as a daily exercise: Shampoo+Conditioner+serum. Don’t brush your hair when it is sopping wet, it’s more likely to break and result in split ends.

  • Wear dresses that suit your personality & style which you can only define for yourself.  Wear colors that suits you.

  • Marriage is like a merger of two companies where employees have different cultures but they work together towards a common goal by maintaining good values & relationship and this can only be done by setting correct expectation. Understand people, their culture & let people understand you as well.

Don't forget, “The ONLY way to be a PERFECT girl or women in your own life is to ‘Be Happy’. A smile on your face makes you look the best.” :-)
Follow your heart & wear your smile daily.  :-)
